It’s always good to learn from success stories like Shanghai. Instead of just making plans, India should study what made Shanghai successful and implement similar policies in India.

Can’t we compare something in which we are close to the Chinese rather than the things which will take decades to correct,also take a look at Mumbai 2050 master plan it has some good points like housing for all & green spaces

Within just 20 years the growth of Shanghai is just beyond impressive.

India is only 15 years behind China. China started reforms in the late 70s and India in the early 90s. The gap is not that big.

May be population-wise a comparison can be done.

it’s true, I have some family over in Hong Kong/Macau right now and they were saying how good everything is compared to India, I was not surprised.

I’ve traveled to the far east and Europe myself so I’ve seen it too, everyone from here who’s been out of India knows how bad things here are overall.

big Indian cities are a mess, mumbai, delhi, kolkatta.. all shitty places for the most part but there are big pockets of planned urban development and some very nice areas there too.

我去过远东，去过欧洲，自己也亲眼目睹了。

每一位出过国的印度人都说国内多么不好。

印度大城市一团糟，比如孟买、德里、加尔各答。市区大多数地方很糟糕，也有一些经过规划的城区很不错就是了。
