The Philippines said Thursday it wants to acquire defence equipment from Japan, as the two allies strengthen defence ties in the face of China’s increasing assertiveness in the South China Sea.

Manila was particularly keen on the P-3C Orion surveillance plane flown by Japanese pilots during recent joint exercises over disputed waters also claimed by Beijing, a defence ministry spokesman said.

This is what “Proud To Be A Filipino” really means. Acting like panhandlers on the street and begging other countries for to help fight their battles with China. Is this the same nation that kicked America out in 1992 because it could stand on its own? is this the same nation that always brags its economy is doing well and on the road to recovery? Is this the same country that gave a generous accommodations to China to bring more good into the country, even if it meant destroying local manufacturing? Is this the same country that brags to other country that is safe and “More Fun In The Philippines” and it’s good idea to invest here? It sounds to me that hypocrisy abound in the Philippines and among its people.

The Philippines needs the military equipment & gadgets very urgently, however, we should be watchful with some of the government officials who would deal with these countries. It may be another source of corruption issues which had happen before in the PNP & the Phils. military. Haste makes waste. We need to evaluate & study further before making abrupt decision.

It’s nice to see so many other countries in the region taking up arms against China. So far we have South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Taiwan, India, and Australia in on it. Hi Guys, I have been studying term of “ally” quite a long time, and found USA treats its ally not better than a dog, US never respect his Ally, even spying on their leaders for sake of fighting terrorism. I would agree it’s a quite good initiative for US to unleash two dogs ( Japan and Philippine) to bark/harass communist China’s aggression in South China Sea or west Philippine Sea. Do you think it’s useful, No, I would strongly recommend US to stand up as responsible master to directly talk to China, in the world, only US could curb communist China’s ambitions.
