BEIJING: China’s economy grew 6.7 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier, meeting expectations and at its slowest pace in seven years, although other indicators show the slowdown in the world’s second largest economy may be bottoming out.
Analysts polled by Reuters had expected gross domestic product (GDP) to grow 6.7 percent, easing slightly from 6.8 percent in the fourth quarter and marking the slowest rate of growth since the first quarter of 2009, when growth tumbled to 6.2 percent.
如人们所料的，中国GDP第一季度比去年增长6.7%，为7年以来的最低增速，而其他指标显示世界第二大经济体的放缓也许已经触底了。

This means that China has grown about five times more than India in ABSOLUTE terms. Moreover, the KIND of growth in India (thanks to US FDI) leaves much to be desired! What good is Indian growth in terms of ecommerce, retail, detail, colas, burgers, share market vis-a-vis CHINESE GROWTH in Power, Steel, Infra projects like (seven gorges dam). China has Maglev trains running all over while India only hopes to have one in this century. Even in space research where India is fairing MODERATELY well India lags far far behind China. They have sent three MANNED missions to space successfully the last one with three astronauts. One wonders whether India will EVER be able to achieve this feat.

India should seize this opportunity to increase production and exportable goods to take over the Chinese market. Most importantly, to make them slip to downwards, India should stop importing any thing from China that will naturally boost the local production and market share, very specifically electronic items. Only then India’s growth rate will drastically raise above expectations.
