Beijing (AFP) – Chinahas begun building a 314-metre (1,030-ft) high dam which will be among theworld’s tallest, officials said, as the country massively expands hydropower.

北京（法新社）——中国已经开始建造314米高的世界最高大坝，官员称。中国正大力扩展水力发电。

The Shuangjiankou dam on a tributary of China’s mighty Yangtze river will be completed in 2022, the environmental ministry saidon its website Tuesday.

位于长江支流上的双江口大坝将于2022年完工，环保部门周二在其网站上说道。

The facility, costing 36 billion yuan ($5.8billion), will be higher than the world’s current tallest dam, the 305-metreJinping-1, also in China.

Dams change the atmospheric flow patterns of water into Earth’s biosphere andplace a heavy load on the continental plates. In fact, the heavy water weightshift caused by dams is so significant that it has caused Earth’s axis tobecome slightly tilted. On related note – the sudden shift of tens of trillionsof tons of water behind dams has been related to earthquakes and the alterationof regional weather patterns.
The energy of flowing water provides the foundation of a “living”river and ocean that supports life. The damming of a river constricts thelife-supporting energies of flowing water and creates stagnation behind the damwith the accumulation of silt, organic debris, and trapped food. The rotting oforganic debris from the captured silt produces methane gas which evaporatesinto our atmosphere as an additional greenhouse gas.
In addition to the above – we have to consider the natural resources and energyused to build a dam and to maintain the dam as long as our civilizationcontinues to exist.

Spent time in China. Really amazed at how fastthey do stuff. Remember traveling down a road when I saw miles and miles ofwindmills. They have solar farms all over the place. Their infrastructure inyears ahead of us. Yet they do not have the natural resources we have here.Their middle class is growing very fast. Very impressed with their society. NowI am sure I’ll get negative comments for saying this. Oh well.
