When the commodity boom began early last decade it was impossible to anticipate the changes that would be wrought on the Australian economy.

So warns the latest Australia China report by the Australian Centre for Financial Studies at the Monash business school.

"Are we prepared for the day when 25 per cent or more of Australia's services exports will be destined for China?" the report says.

Very True. Just cast eye over whatever is leftover Australian controlled businesses having Asian or Chinese footprints. Not many and fast forward 10 odd years whatever is left now will most likely overseas owned. Nothing wrong with it however we are delluded when it is written that innovation is sole right of western oriented companies.

Let's not forget that China is about to enter population stagnation. And by 2025 will be entering the same population decline that hampers Japan. And within a few years of that the decline will be sharp and painful. China is so bold at the moment because they know its a window not the dawn of a new era.
