NEW DELHI: In a candid admission, the IAF on Thursday said that given its depleting strength, it does not have the adequate numbers to “fully execute” an air campaign in case of a two-front war involving Pakistan and China simultaneously.

The next war we fight with Pakistan will be a 2 front war with Pak and China. Even China will attack us when we go to war with Pakistan. Hence we need adequate number of war planes. Our govt. should buy more Rafale’s from France and also more Sukhoi’s from Russia. We should also push for the project which we are starting with Russia to develop 5th generation fighter aircrafts jointly.

India must accelerate the commercial production of TEJAS and TEJAS MARK-2 single engine planes. This project has already taken 30 years. Normally it takes 10 years for development of a fighter plane as per International standards. The project for 5th generation multirole superiority fighter plane Sukhoi PAK-FA with Russia is also in limbo …((((not good signs. Chins recently bought Sukhoi-MK31 from Russia who have offered the same planes to India.
